Twilight Music in the Parks 2024: Pat Lamanna and Lydia Adams Davis – “The Herstorians”
August 27 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Celebrate women’s suffrage with “Herstorians” Pat Lamanna and Lydia Adams Davis as they present “Songs to Celebrate Women’s Suffrage” on Thursday, June 6 at 6:00 p.m., on the west side of the Walkway Over the Hudson. In the shadow of the imposing statue of women’s suffragist Sojourner Truth, they will trace the Women’s Suffrage movement through its beginnings in the Abolitionist movement; explore its connections to the Temperance movement; and bring us up-to-date to the modern Feminist movement — all through exuberant, lively, sometimes humorous, and sometimes touching songs. The program will include songs of the late 19th and early 20th century women’s suffrage movement; songs by other feminists; and originals. Pat and Lydia are folksingers, songwriters and social activists.
