Open Mic via Zoom: Ann Ramsey
January 25 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm
An accomplished fingerstyle guitar player, Ann Ramsey is a new songwriter from Wilmington DE. Inspired by traditional story-songs and ballads, she’s written 55 songs since she began writing in 2022. Her songs are described as “entrancing,” and “haunting.” Her style is inspired by the work of Richard Thompson, Joan Baez, and Roseanne Cash.
Ann is active in the Philadelphia Area Songwriters Alliance (PASAmusic.org), and the Philadelphia Folksong Society (PFS.org). She’s listed on the artists roster of the Delaware Division of the Arts, from which she was awarded Artist Opportunity grants for FY 2023 & 2025. She’s an alum of Eliza Gilkyson’s Winter and Fall 2024 Casa de Musica intensive songwriting workshops, and Richard Thompson’s 2023 & 2024 Frets & Refrains songwriting camp. She is credited for the Harmony Vocals on Jon Burrowes’ 2024 second album.
Ann is working on her own first recording, slated for release in early 2025. For original demos: https://soundcloud.com/annramse

OPEN MIC
Music starts at 7:00, but if you arrive at 6:30 you can spend some time catching up with friends, helping each other sound check, and just generally enjoying the mellow Folk Guild vibe.
Ethan Campbell will be the Zoom maestro, so if you’re a musician and you’re planning to perform, let Ethan know as soon as you come in from the Waiting Room. He’ll get you into the next available slot. Everybody gets two songs or eight (8) minutes, whichever comes first.
