SUMMARY:Kingston Chapter: Jerelynn Mason
DESCRIPTION:The Kingston Chapter of the Hudson Valley Folk Guild welcomes you to our\n2024-2025 Coffeehouse Series\non Saturday\, September 7\, 2024\nat the Unitarian Fellowship\, 320 Sawkill Rd.\, Kingston.\n\nOur featured performer is Jerelynn Mason.\n\n  \nJerelynn Mason\, a Saugerties-based musician and artist\, took up the ukulele about 10 years ago. She is a member of the Ukulele Catskill group and UUukes.  As she explains\, one of the beautiful aspects of the ukulele is that you can play it at the same skill level you had 10 years ago because most ukulele players are in it for the ease\, fun\, and community. Playing the ukulele also\, fortunately or unfortunately (depending on your viewpoint)\, leads to acquiring a kazoo\, and to writing quirky songs. That’s just the way it goes. \nIn addition to her music\, Jerelynn’s artistic endeavors include photography\, painting rescued furniture\, mixed media collage\, and creating cards. During the past two summers\, she has hosted a stop on the Saugerties Artists Tour. Her Street Art projects include an owl and a horse (Saugerties)\, three bears (Cairo)\, and four cats (Catskill\, of course). \nOPEN MIC\n\n\nOpen mic performances will be available for all.\nSignup begins at 6:30pm and open mic begins at 7:00pm.\nThe featured performance is expected to begin at approximately 8:00. \nCost of admission for this event is $7 ($6 for Folk Guild members and seniors) \n\n\n\n\n\n  \n
