DESCRIPTION:Featured Performer: Don Lowe\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDon Lowe’s brand of Americana music explores life with songs that are in turns witty\, arcane\, sad\, and sometimes\, downright silly.  He was open mic host for the venerable Towne Crier Café for 8 years\, and for 3 fun years\, he and friend Steve Kirkman hosted a weekly radio program called Local Heroes that featured area local singer/songwriters. \nDon plays a wide-range of Americana covers through the decades along with his own original songs. All 500-plus songs are from memory\, allowing for greater performance awareness. \nDon’s second CD\, “Out Here”\, was released in September 2014 and his first release\, “Dogs\, Clowns\, and Belles” came out in 2011. His third CD is set for release in September\, 2023. He played solo and duo gigs in the Village Folk clubs\, sang on other writers’ demos\, and did voice-overs and jingles. He was musical director of The First All-Children’s Theatre (First ACT)\, overseeing the creation of original musicals for children and teens. He also sang in a variety of early music ensembles\, choirs\, and choral groups\, and was a co-founder of a 12-voice jazz group\, Vocal Jazz\, Inc. \nAfter a second career as a technical writer and instructional designer in the software industry\, Dennis returned to solo performing and songwriting. In 2022\, he released Ferris Wheel\, an album of his favorite originals\, produced locally.
