SUMMARY:Kingston Chapter: Take Out Music
DESCRIPTION:Take Out Music is a group of four voices and more than 13 instruments. Despite their unassuming appearance\, Take Out Music offers unique arrangements and an eclectic repertoire\, everything from Elizabeth Cotten through Dylan to Motown. The name was inspired by their tradition of beginning each practice with a meal\, and the enjoyment of one another’s company. \nKirk Lamb plays guitar\, bass\, and sings. He enjoys playing bass\, and came to it through the traditional route: the band needed a bass player and it looked like no one else was going to do it. \nCatherine Cattabiani\, finding her piano too unwieldy to bring to rehearsals\, sings\, and plays the concertina and suitcase drum. \nJerelynn Mason enjoys all types of music\, so naturally she took up the ukulele. \nMary Evans studied piano and cello\, but when she saw a dulcimer being played at a country fair\, she knew she had found her instrument. Mary especially enjoys dulcimer arrangements of fiddle tunes\, and 17th Century dance tunes. \nContact:  jerelynnmason@yahoo.com \n \n  \n\nConnect via Zoom:\nTopic: Poughkeepsie HVFG Open Mic \n  \nFor the Zoom link\, please signup for our email newsletters\, or contact the President of the Kingston chapter: Ethan Campbell:  HVFGKingston@hudsonvalleyfolkguild.org. \n\n  \nOPEN MIC\nMusic starts at 7:30\, but if you arrive at 7:00 you can spend some time catching up with friends\, helping each other sound check\, and just generally enjoying the mellow Folk Guild vibe. \nAndy Shapiro will be the Zoom maestro\, so if you’re a musician and you’re planning to perform\, let Andy know as soon as you come in from the Waiting Room.  He’ll get you into the next available slot.  Everybody gets two songs or eight (8) minutes\, whichever comes first. \n  \n\nDonations may be made through the HVFG Paypal account. \n

SUMMARY:Rock Tavern Chapter: Ethan Campbell
DESCRIPTION:The Rock Tavern Chapter of the Hudson Valley Folk Guild is pleased to be featuring Ethan Campbell. \nEthan Campbell\nEthan Campbell cut his musical teeth on Rock’n’Roll\, playing in bands on the NYC Punk scene in the mid-‘70s.  Having mellowed (slightly) with age\, he now performs solo acoustic\, with a diverse repertoire of mostly ’60s and ’70s Classics:  Jackson Brown\, Eagles\, The Band\, Tom Petty\, Allman Brothers\, Elvis\, Springsteen\, et al.\, along with the occasional original composition\, often in a mystical or contemplative vein.Ethan’s musical mission is to channel the energy and unique vibe of the great original recordings of the ‘60s and ‘70s.  After his performances\, listeners have been heard to mutter things like\, “He does Tom Petty better than Tom Petty!”  Ethan is too modest to agree\, but politely accepts all complements.Fans of the Golden Age of Rock will thoroughly enjoy Ethan’s renditions of songs that range from sentimental ballads to up-tempo rockers.ethan.1247@gmail.com for more info or to be added to Ethan’s email list. \nOpen Mic: \nOpen mic performances will be available to all. The Zoom meeting opens at 7 for signin\, sound check\, and socializing.  The open mic begins at 7:30. \nIf you wish to perform\, please add your name and email to the link below. Signing up in advance has the added benefit of selecting your place in the order.  https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/17Y5qQqiZIP-Evl8RVaxzBsl9WLxHJV04GnhJMmgAltY/edit?usp=sharing \nThe Zoom link is https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83220662299?pwd=eGxNV0dNK0xUekhxaHpzZTJ3VXlSUT09

Several of his songs have appeared in movies and on tv\, while others have been covered by artists as diverse as David Wilcox\, Kathy Mattea\, The African Children’s Choir of Uganda\, and Frogwings (with Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks).
