DESCRIPTION:Jim Pospisil is a singer songwriter and multi instrumentalist from the Hudson Valley whose songs are marked by well crafted\, sometimes quirky lyrics and themes from the personal to the profound. A mix of folk\, blues\, rock and more\, his guitar and harmonica performances can be soft and subtle\, or wild and energetic. He blends it all with a wry sense of humor\, his goal is to make you laugh\, cry\, or think. Sometimes all at once. \nHe has released three CDs of original songs; “Songs From The Periphery”\, “Acre Bay”\, and “Some Follow\, Some Lead”. His fourth album\, “Sleight Of Hand” is set to be released December 2021. \nJim is performing solo throughout the tri state area\, appearing on the bill with Leo Kottke\, Dave Mason\, Priscilla Herdman\, Vance Gilbert and many others. He also performs currently with the band Flash Company (traditional Irish music).

DESCRIPTION:The Rock Tavern Chapter of the Hudson Valley Folk Guild is pleased to be featuring Diane Diachishin.\n\n\nSinger/Songwriter Diane Diachishin sings folksongs that make you laugh\, feel and think. She infuses her original songs with a zany sense of humor\, inspired by the songwriting of Christine Lavin. \n\n\n\n\nShe is known for her clear soprano singing voice combined with her solid guitar playing. She has been a featured solo performer several times in the past for the Hudson Valley Folk Guild.\n\n\nDiane has a fondness for Scottish music\, inspired after being given the opportunity to learn from the legendary folksinger Jean Redpath. In 2017\, as part of the duo the “Rambling Sisters”\, she performed in Scotland at several folk clubs as well as the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.\n\nBefore Covid\, Diane often teamed up with two other local talented musicians\, Singer-songwriter Richard Newman and vocalist Lynn Meeker.  Both of her duos won “Best of Open Mike “ at the Town Crier\, two years in a row.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nwww.dianediachishin.com\n\n\nOpen Mic: \nOpen mic performances will be available to all. DESCRIPTION:The Poughkeepsie Chapter\nof the Hudson Valley Folk Guild\n is pleased to be featuring\nMolly Jeanne\nin our monthly Open Mic\non Saturday\, December 18\,  2021 at 7:30pm.\n  \n“My name is Molly Jeanne\, and I’m a 17 year-old singer songwriter. I’ve written over 150 original songs\, which I perform at venues in New York\, Connecticut\, Ohio\, and Tennessee. I’ve been lucky enough to earn recognition from American Songwriter Magazine and the Smoky Mountains Songwriting Festival for my songs. When I was 11\, I got to record an album of my music at The Tracking Room in Nashville\, Tennessee\, entitled Made You Look.  I’m a proud member of both SESAC and NSAI (Nashville Songwriters Association International).” \n“During the school year\, I get pretty busy – but I make time to share my music at farmers markets and other local events.  I’m the featured performer at Samuel’s Sweet Shop\, owned by actors Jeffrey Dean Morgan\, Hilarie Burton and Paul Rudd.  I won second place at Kara Dioguardi’s competition Tri-State Rocks\, and have continued to work with her organization\, Inspired Nation.  In Tennessee\, I love to sing at Antique Archaeology\, The Loveless Café\, The Station Inn\, and the Smoky Mountain Songwriters Festival. I’ve been able to share the stage with country\, bluegrass\, and folk music greats such as Bill Anderson\, Carl Jackson\, Larry Cordle\, Jerry Salley\, Bobby Tomberlin\, Don Henry\, and Tom Paxton. I play the guitar\, piano\, bell lyre\, ukulele\, banjolele\, mandolin\, charango\, and mountain dulcimer.
