SUMMARY:Open Mic via Zoom: Jerry Korobow
DESCRIPTION:For Jerry Korobow\, throughout over five decades and many professions — social worker\, school music teacher\, actor\, restaurant/bar manager\, attorney\, and synagogue cantor — music has been the constant. Folk\, Blues\, bluegrass\, Celtic\, country\, chanteys\, show tunes\, children’s music\, cantorial music and opera have all been part of an ongoing musical journey. Still a working attorney and cantor at Temple Beth Sholom of Flushing\, New York\, Jerry’s goal is always to engage others and encourage participation\, whether singing with children\, a congregation\, or a concert audience. In August of 2022\, Jerry played the Philadelphia Folk Festival after a hiatus of some fifty years. Playing the ukulele also\, fortunately or unfortunately (depending on your viewpoint)\, leads to acquiring a kazoo\, and to writing quirky songs. That’s just the way it goes. \nIn addition to her music\, Jerelynn’s artistic endeavors include photography\, painting rescued furniture\, mixed media collage\, and creating cards. In the summer of 2022\, she hosted a stop on the Saugerties Artists Tour\, and her work has appeared at the Emerge Gallery in Saugerties. Her Street Art projects include an owl and a horse (Saugerties)\, two bears (Cairo)\, and three cats (Catskill\, of course}. \n\n\nOPEN MIC\n \nOpen mic performances will be available for all.\nSignup begins at 7pm and open mic begins at 7:30pm.\nThe featured performance is expected to begin at approximately 8:30. \nCost of admission for this event is $7 ($6 for Folk Guild members and seniors) \n\n\n  \n
