DESCRIPTION:The Poughkeepsie Chapter of the Hudson Valley Folk Guild\nwill host our monthly coffeehouse on\nSaturday\, April 18\, 2026\nat the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Poughkeepsie\, N.Y.\n  \nThis month we are proud to be featuring Don and Maureen Black.\n\nDon and Maureen Black began taking guitar lessons with Helen Avakian in September of 2008. They first played together in public in January 2013\, under the name “Never Too Late”. Since then they have played together in a variety of local venues\, most notably in the “Teachers” – themed John Street Jam\, and in a Lou Reed tribute in Nyack. They are active in the Hudson Valley Folk Guild and play regularly at the High Falls Café and at Richard’s Rhinecliff Acoustic Show at Morton Library. They enjoy playing humorous songs and\, most especially\, songs written by local artists. \n  \n\nOPEN MIC\n \nOpen mic performances will be available for all.\nSignup begins at 6:30 and open mic begins at 7:00.\nThe featured performance is expected to begin at approximately 8:00. \nCost of admission for this event is $7 ($6 for Folk Guild members and seniors). \nQuestions?
