DESCRIPTION:The Poughkeepsie Chapter of the Hudson Valley Folk Guild\nwill host our monthly coffeehouse on\nSaturday\, April 20\, 2024\nat the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Poughkeepsie\, N.Y.\nThis month we are proud to be featuring Mike Burns.\n\nThe Buzz has been building for some time about Mike Burns\, with a delightfully smooth voice and a big talent to match. Mike is a singer/songwriter and acoustic flat-picking guitarist from Purdys\, New York. A veteran of the Hudson Valley music scene\, he has been playing and singing for more than 25 years – hardly a newcomer. When listening to Mike Burns\, the almost universal response of the audience is great surprise at the startlingly clear\, soft and beautiful tenor/baritone voice of this singer. \nMike plays locally and also runs the Westchester Bluegrass Club in Purdys\, N.Y. \n\nOPEN MIC\n \nOpen mic performances will be available for all.\nSignup begins at 7 and open mic begins at 7:30.\nThe featured performance is expected to begin at approximately 8:30. \nCost of admission for this event is $7 ($6 for Folk Guild members and seniors) \nQuestions?
