DESCRIPTION:The Poughkeepsie Chapter of the Hudson Valley Folk Guild\nwill host our monthly coffeehouse on\nSaturday\, December 16\, 2023\nat the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Poughkeepsie\, N.Y.\n  \nThis month we are proud to be featuring Tom Heany.\n\n\nTom Heany is a Hudson Valley songwriter\, singer and guitarist. His songs fall somewhere between John Prine and George Gershwin. Tom has released two albums of songs:  Reservoir and Dogs in the Water(EP)\, and one of guitar instrumentals\, called Home at Last. He  has also written two song suites: Wonders of Westchester and If I Had God’s Ear\, and is at work on a third\, called Wingmen. He plays guitar like Mississippi John Hurt and sings like an old car. \n\nOPEN MIC\n \nOpen mic performances will be available for all.\nSignup begins at 7 and open mic begins at 7:30.\nThe featured performance is expected to begin at approximately 8:30. \nCost of admission for this event is $7 ($6 for Folk Guild members and seniors) \nQuestions?
