DESCRIPTION:The Rock Tavern Chapter of the Hudson Valley Folk Guild is pleased to be featuring Jim Barbaro.\nJim’s songs are like vignettes or sketches\, and each is a musical chapter that fuses rock\, classical\,western \,jazz and folk. Whatever the style\, the underlying mood is always passionate\,romantic and melodic.When you get your hands on a Jim Barbaro CD\,you get a healthy pallette of spanish guitars\, violin\,cello\,dobros trumpet\, pedal steel as well as traditional rock and folk instruments.It all gets topped off and woven together by Jim’s dynamic\, full throated vocals that range from deep and souful to rough ‘n’ gritty to satiny smooth. In a marketing driven industry where artists are discouraged from jumping from genre to genre\, Barbaro is not afraid to take that leap and explore the many worlds music has to offer. And all you adventurous and multi-dimensional music lovers are free to come along for the ride.\n~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOpen mic performances will be available to all. Cost of admission for this event is $7 ($6 for Folk Guild members and seniors).  Signup begins at 7 and open mic begins at 7:30.  The featured performance is expected to begin at approximately 8:30. \nThe Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Rock Tavern is located in the Town of New Windsor at 9 Vance Road\, Rock Tavern\, NY\, off Route 207\, 3.4 miles west of Rte 300; or take I-84 to Exit 5A\, Rte 747 south to Rte 207\, make a right and take the second left. \nWe have returned to in-person performances on the second Saturday of every month\, weather and pandemic permitting.  We also intend to stream the performances on Zoom for those unable to attend in person.  We will not be including remote performances\, but you can watch at the Zoom link:  https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83220662299?pwd=eGxNV0dNK0xUekhxaHpzZTJ3VXlSUT09 \nFor more information call Maureen Black\, President of the Rock Tavern Chapter of the Hudson Valley Folk Guild\, at 845-464-2526. \nFor those who still wish to perform from home\, the Hudson Valley Folk Guild has created a fourth virtual chapter that will meet every fourth Saturday.  That chapter will be hosted on Zoom by Ethan Campbell.  Check the web page for that link.
