SUMMARY:Rock Tavern Chapter: George Mallas
DESCRIPTION:The Rock Tavern Chapter of the Hudson Valley Folk Guild is pleased to be featuring George Mallas.\n\nGeorge Mallas is a piano based Singer/Songwriter who has been writing since the age of 14. Some of his early influences were Joni Mitchell and Jackson Browne. George has released 3 full length albums over the past 7 years. His latest album\, ‘Let the Day Decide’ has garnered wonderful reviews and is mostly a collaboration with Lyricist Melanie Berti. George has performed on the stages of many venues including The Towne Crier Cafe\, Daryl’s House Club and Cafe Lena. George also is part of the collaborative group\, The Four Horsemen Songwriters. George also hosts podcasts on The Songwriters Block and each Tuesday night a FB live show which features local\, national  and international Songwriters.\n\n~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~\n\n\n\n\n\nOpen mic performances will be available to all. Cost of admission for this event is $7 ($6 for Folk Guild members and seniors).  Signup begins at 7 and open mic begins at 7:30.  The featured performance is expected to begin at approximately 8:30. \nThe Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Rock Tavern is located in the Town of New Windsor at 9 Vance Road\, Rock Tavern\, NY\, off Route 207\, 3.4 miles west of Rte 300; or take I-84 to Exit 5A\, Rte 747 south to Rte 207\, make a right and take the second left. \nWe have returned to in-person performances on the second Saturday of every month\, weather and pandemic permitting.  We also intend to stream the performances on Zoom for those unable to attend in person.  We will not be including remote performances\, but you can watch at the Zoom link:  https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83220662299?pwd=eGxNV0dNK0xUekhxaHpzZTJ3VXlSUT09 \nFor more information call Maureen Black\, President of the Rock Tavern Chapter of the Hudson Valley Folk Guild\, at 845-464-2526. \nFor those who still wish to perform from home\, the Hudson Valley Folk Guild has created a fourth virtual chapter that will meet every fourth Saturday.  That chapter will be hosted on Zoom by Ethan Campbell.  Check the web page for that link.
