Rock Tavern Chapter: Mary Pazienza
October 12 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
The Rock Tavern Chapter of the Hudson Valley Folk Guild is pleased to be featuring Mary Pazienza.
~~~~~
Mary Pazienza has been playing guitar since her retirement. It’s been a lot of fun and a time consuming hobby! She started writing songs five years ago and has close to 100 songs now. Some of these lyrics are in her self published books of Lyric Poems, Livin’ the Dream and Watercolors. Her songs are introspective, covering topics on relationships, mental health, social justice and food. The creative process has enhanced Mary’s life in so many ways including the joy of singing. Early musical influences include. 70s music such as Fleetwood Mac, Bob Dylan and Joan Baez.
Mary played in a song circle with Hudson Valley Folk Guild at the Walkway Over The Hudson this summer performing fan favorites of her originals, Ice Cream for Dinner and Livin’ the Dream. She has played at the Poughkeepsie Porchfest for the past two summers. She attended SummerSongs again this year focusing on performance and singing.
Mary is learning keyboard and also plays ukulele. Future plans include joining a choir, more studio recording and continuing shows at the Clubhouse where she lives.
You can follow Mary at marymusicmaking on Facebook.
Open mic performances will be available to all.
Cost of admission for this event is $7 ($6 for Folk Guild members and seniors). Signup begins at 6:30pm and open mic begins at 7:00. The featured performance is expected to begin at approximately 8:00.
