Poughkeepsie Chapter: Steve Kirkman

March 16 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

The Poughkeepsie Chapter of the Hudson Valley Folk Guild

will host our monthly coffeehouse on

Saturday, March 16, 2024

at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

This month we are proud to be featuring Steve Kirkman.

Steve Kirkman is a North Carolina native who began his songwriting journey by moving to Nashville for 10 years. There he was able to learn first hand the craft and due diligence of great songwriting. From there he moved to New York City for another 10 years where he continued to explore a life in music. In 2000 he moved out of the city and up to the Hudson Valley where he plans to stay. Meeting the wealth of creative people in this area has proved the most rewarding so far.
As well as his own songs, Steve plays and collaborates with many other local musicians in and around the area. Steve has his own recording studio, The Octagon, and also works at Masterdisk Studio in Peekskill. He is the Host of the long running Open Mic Series at the Towne Crier Cafe in Beacon, and co-founder of the bands, Hope Machine, Guthries Ghost, and Alectro.
