Poughkeepsie Chapter: Paul Sachs

Paul Sachs writes lyrical and witty songs. Born and raised in New York City, he was influenced by the writers Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, and Springsteen, who pushed him into the folk music song circles of the city.
In 2012 he won the prestigious New Folk Songwriters Contest at the Kerville Folk Festival in Texas.
Sachs still lives in NYC performing in various venues around the city. He has recorded 5 independent albums, featuring raw and seeringly personal songs of life and love on the mean streets. His fingerstyle guitar and powerful voice combine to create mesmerizing vignettes.
