Poughkeepsie Chapter: Janie March
November 20, 2021 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm
Janie has played guitar since she was in the 8th grade, and wrote her first basic song at the age of 14. She earned 13 credits in music at Western Connecticut State University. Janie has also attended SummerSongs and Cedar Run songwriting camps, as well as several singer/songwriter workshops. Her latest CD release is called, “I Love to See You Smile,” a collection of family-oriented educational stories and songs that span the seasons.
An advocate for special education, Janie recorded an Autism awareness EP, “In His Eyes / Living with Autism”. All the proceeds from both recordings have been donated to the Anderson Center for Autism, the organization that has helped her son for many years.
Music starts at 7:30, but if you arrive at 7:00 you can hear tips about how to sound your best on Zoom, spend time catching up with friends, and enjoying the unique Folk Guild vibe.
If you plan on performing, as you enter the room, check in with John Hamilton to see what slots are available. Each participant will have two songs, same as we’ve always done.
