Open Mic via Zoom: Dennis Douglas

Dennis Douglas is known for his clear and warm tenor vocals and nylon-acoustic arrangements on his vintage ’65 Swedish classical guitar. He and his wife Alison have lived in the Hudson Valley since 2002 and love the natural beauty and cultural diversity of the area.
For a number of years Dennis was a freelance vocalist in NYC, with gigs ranging from folk clubs and coffee houses to musical theater. He also pursued more traditional vocal work such as early music ensembles, choirs, and choral groups, and was a co-founder of Vocal Jazz, Inc., a 12-voice group doing big-band style vocal arrangements.
Then for over twenty years, he was a technical writer and instructional designer in the software industry, retiring in 2015. He continues to love the guitar and piano, and performing original songs – and being part of the Hudson Valley music scene, including the HV Folk Guild.
His album of originals, called Ferris Wheel, can be played at his website dennisdouglasmusic.com and on streaming services. Please contact him directly at ddwebmail@gmail.com for some free downloads.

OPEN MIC
Music starts at 7:00, but if you arrive at 6:45 you can spend some time catching up with friends, helping each other sound check, and just generally enjoying the mellow Folk Guild vibe.
Ethan Campbell will be the Zoom maestro, so if you’re a musician and you’re planning to perform, let Ethan know as soon as you come in from the Waiting Room. He’ll get you into the next available slot. Everybody gets two songs or eight (8) minutes, whichever comes first.
