New Paltz Chapter: Michele Gedney

The New Paltz Chapter of the Hudson Valley Folk Guild welcomes you to our
2025-2026 Coffeehouse Series
on Saturday, April 25, 2026.

Our featured performer is
Michele Gedney.

 

Michele Gedney spent 23 years as one half of the award-winning duo Open Book with her late husband, Rick Gedney. The duo released five albums which received national airplay and critical acclaim. Michele released their final album, “Leaning In”, following Rick’s passing.  The album placed on the Folk Alliance International radio charts in 2023.

Michele is a co-founder and teacher at Dar Williams ‘Writing a Song That Matters” retreat, entering its 15th year. Michele’s songs have received numerous awards and her song “Go” has been released by Cry Cry Cry (Williams, Kaplansky, Shindell) on their 2020 album, “Live at the Freight”.

Michele has shared the stage and recorded with many notable musicians including Buddy and Julie Miller, Dar Williams, Richard Shindell, Lucy Kaplansky, Ellis Paul, Freedy Johston, John Sebastian, Livingston Taylor, Martin Sexton, Don McClean, and Sloan Wainwright.

Michele’s new solo album is scheduled for release in 2026.

OPEN MIC

Open mic performances will be available for all.
Signup begins at 6:30pm and open mic begins at 7:00pm.
The featured performance is expected to begin at approximately 8:00.

Cost of admission for this event is $7 ($6 for Folk Guild members and seniors)
