  • « Open Mic via Zoom: Ethan Campbell

The Kingston Chapter of the Hudson Valley Folk Guild welcomes you to our
2023-2024 Coffeehouse Series
on Saturday, December 2, 2023
at the Unitarian Fellowship, 320 Sawkill Rd., Kingston.

Our featured performer is Lydia Adams Davis.

A relaxed and warm-voiced balladeer, Lydia brings an improvisational flair to her original and traditional songs.

Lydia grew up in New England and the Hudson Valley, where she was active with Pete Seeger and the Hudson River Sloop Singers.

Lydia performs original songs in a unique Country/Folk style often creating songs on the spot! Initially her appearances at Great Hudson River Revival and the Lone Star Cafe in NYC led to a robust folk performance career which still includes making recordings for children created in arts in education venues: nature programs , songwriing , puppetry and story- telling in ASL  Lydia is active with the Beacon Sloop Club – singing environmental songs in festivals and sailing (free to the public) on the Sloop Woody Guthrie-welcoming all to the Holiday Sing Dec 9, 3023 5pm on Red Flynn Drive ,Beacon , NY

Folk venues such as the People’s Voice Café,(Judson Memorial Church Annex, NYC) have hosted Lydia Adams over many years.

On March 23, 2024 Lydia returns to PVC in person (and via livestream) with Pat Lamanna and Sharleen Leahey as “The Herstorians”!

Several CDs document her Woman’s “Gift of Story ” landscape, and her environmental focus. ” One Earth So Green And Round “was short-listed for a Grammy nomination in 2012, Audiences sign & sing along with The Lunch Song – folks resonate with “Our Homes Along the River” (on Hudson Harding Folk Now! compilations for radio) documenting Newburgh, NY’s on-going solution to the plight of urban housing .

Lydia Adams has achieved the “Best In Hudson Valley” recognition.
