***CANCELLED*** Kingston Chapter: Jerelynn Mason
January 6 @ 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm
Due to the impending inclement weather and Winter Storm Watches that have been issued for this weekend,
the Kingston Chapter Coffeehouse
for January 6th has been cancelled.
Stay safe, everyone!
The Kingston Chapter of the Hudson Valley Folk Guild welcomes you to our
2023-2024 Coffeehouse Series
on Saturday, January 6, 2024
at the Unitarian Fellowship, 320 Sawkill Rd., Kingston.
Our featured performer is Jerelynn Mason.
Jerelynn Mason, a Saugerties-based musician and artist, took up the ukulele about 10 years ago. She is a member of the Ukulele Catskill group and UUukes. As she explains, one of the beautiful aspects of the ukulele is that you can play it at the same skill level you had 10 years ago because most ukulele players are in it for the ease, fun, and community. Playing the ukulele also, fortunately or unfortunately (depending on your viewpoint), leads to acquiring a kazoo, and to writing quirky songs. That’s just the way it goes.
In addition to her music, Jerelynn’s artistic endeavors include photography, painting rescued furniture, mixed media collage, and creating cards. In the summer of 2022, she hosted a stop on the Saugerties Artists Tour, and her work has appeared at the Emerge Gallery in Saugerties. Her Street Art projects include an owl and a horse (Saugerties), two bears (Cairo), and three cats (Catskill, of course}.
OPEN MIC
Open mic performances will be available for all.
Signup begins at 7pm and open mic begins at 7:30pm.
The featured performance is expected to begin at approximately 8:30.
Cost of admission for this event is $7 ($6 for Folk Guild members and seniors)
