Kingston Chapter: Ethan Campbell
January 2, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
This month the Kingston Folk Guild is proud to present as our Feature Act: Ethan Campbell!
Ethan Campbell cut his musical teeth on Rock’n’Roll, playing in bands on the NYC Punk scene in the mid-‘70s. Having mellowed (slightly) with age, he now performs solo acoustic, with a diverse repertoire of mostly ’60s and ’70s Classics: Jackson Brown, Eagles, The Band, Tom Petty, Allman Brothers, Elvis, Springsteen, et al., along with the occasional original composition, often in a mystical or contemplative vein.
Ethan’s musical mission is to channel the energy and unique vibe of the great original recordings of the ‘60s and ‘70s. After his performances, listeners have been heard to mutter things like, “He does Tom Petty better than Tom Petty!” Ethan is too modest to agree, but politely accepts all compliments.
Fans of the Golden Age of Rock will thoroughly enjoy Ethan’s renditions of songs that range from sentimental ballads to more up-tempo tunes, all delivered with heart and soul.
Open Mic:
Music starts at 7:30, but if you arrive at 7:00 you can spend some time catching up with friends, helping each other sound check, and just generally enjoying the mellow Folk Guild vibe . . .
Pat Lamanna will be the Zoom maestro once again, so if you’re a musician and you’re planning to perform, let Pat know as soon as you come in from the Waiting Room. She’ll slot you into the next available spot. Everybody gets two songs or eight (8) minutes, whichever comes first.
