Kingston Chapter: Dennis Douglas

October 3, 2020 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

Dennis Douglas

This month we are thrilled to have as our Feature Performer: Dennis Douglas.

Dennis is a Hudson Valley singer-songwriter with a clear tenor voice and mellow vibe. Writing in diverse styles, he plays a vintage 1965 Swedish-made classical guitar – his oldest and best friend.

A freelance singer in NYC for fifteen years, Dennis sang in Greenwich Village Folk clubs, recording studios, early music ensembles, and choral groups. In the early ‘80’s he toured the US and Asia as one of the ‘60s swing/pop vocal group The Four Lads. He was a co-founder of Vocal Jazz, Inc., a 12-voice vocal ensemble plus trio (Their album High Clouds was recorded in RCA’s Studio A).

After a second career as a technical writer and instructional designer, he moved upstate and returned to solo performing and songwriting – strictly for the love of it. Dennis is currently recording a CD of his original songs ranging from the revealing to wry humor. Songs of the spirit – high, low, and in-between.

Open Mic:

Music starts at 7:30, but if you arrive at 7:00 you can hear tips about how to sound your best on Zoom, spend some time catching up with friends, and enjoying the unique Folk Guild vibe . . .

If you’re performing, as soon as you log in tell Pat — our awesome Tech Host! — that you want to sign up, and you’ll have your pick of the available slots.

Each participant will play two songs, same as we’ve always done.
