Poughkeepsie Chapter: John Gavin

The Poughkeepsie Chapter of the Hudson Valley Folk Guild
will host our monthly coffeehouse on
Saturday, April 19, 2025
at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
This month we are proud to be featuring John Gavin.
John Gavin grew up in the Bronx and lived in Greenwich Village, San Francisco, Columbus Ohio and now Poughkeepsie.
Joined the Folk Guild in 1987 and was Treasurer for a couple of years.
Played on this stage and MCed a few shows.
Life got good busy and I disappeared for 20.years.
Taught “Dylan: the First Five Albums” and “James Joyce’s Ulysses” at Marist College Center for Lifetime Study.
Reappeared three years ago and am honored to be here tonight.
OPEN MIC
Open mic performances will be available for all.
Signup begins at 6:30 and open mic begins at 7:00.
The featured performance is expected to begin at approximately 8:00.
Cost of admission for this event is $7 ($6 for Folk Guild members and seniors).
